Clicking in steering wheel

I've just started to feel a very very slight click or snap in the steering wheel when driving straight and/or turning in/out. It's intermittent. Does not occur when stationary turning steering wheel. Steering feels tight w/ no slop at all (turbo tie rods) but there's this damn intermittent click. Maybe I'm obsessing (probably) but I try to be vigilant in maintaining a consistent aural sense about the vehicle's mechanical feel. Ball joint maybe? She's drives real tight, though. Has 96 K non track miles. I guess I can live w/ it but thanks for any thoughts.
