Adjusting lateral window frame gaps?
 

I need to adjust the gaps between the side window frame and the quarter window. I know how to adjust the tilt on these but was wondering if anyone has a technique for adjusting the gaps in the picture. Note that all the body gaps are in spec.

It looks as though you have fixed rear quarter windows so all adjustments have to come from the door. You say all body gaps are in spec so I assume you mean the sheet metal door gaps. What about the gap between the top of the window frame and the roof sill? Is the gap equal all along the length of the window frame? There is some room for adjusting the "tilt" of the frame as you know and I think(note the emphasis) there may be a bit of forward/reaward adjustment due to elongated holes for the mounting bolts. Not sure of that though--it's been quite a long time since I tore into a window frame. Someone may confirm this, or you could loosen all mounting points and see if you can change the forward angle a bit.

Maybe you could invite an experienced Porsche guy up to the house and have him look at it for you. Just a thought.
P.S. I just noticed you don't have the trim installed under the glass. This has to go on before the glass is installed.

i was just test fitting, that's why no trim.

Your in luck, I'm not much of a drinker. But try this first. Install the lower trim as though it's going in to stay. Re-install the quarter window making sure the tabs( the two hole tabs on the 1/4 window frame) engage the slot in the window opening correctly. Install the four little allen head screws and tighten. Now install the latch mechanism on the back of the window. Tightening the four allen nead screw and installing the latch should prompt the window into proper alignment. If that fails give me a shout.

I agree with Ozziblue. I have rebuilt my door frame assembly (had them anodised) and excountered a similar problem. When adjusting the frame ensure every bolt is loose (obvious but there are some 'hidden' ones). Hopefully this will do the trick
