Anybody replaced CIS with aftermarket?
I'm growing tired of CIS in my 930. It's hopeless piece of equipment. It's running too rich @ idle, measure-plate claps on decceleration and mileage is ridiculous.
I'm thinking about taking out CIS and installing Autronic or Haltech system. Plan is to get rid of CIS-injectors, and mounting electrical Bosch ones instead connected with one fuel-rail on each side of engine. To keep things simple, i'll leave original airbox and CIS throttle-body cavity (without measure-plate or anything mechanic). MAP-sensor is to go into manifold. It would be good to know if somebody already did this and what i'm to expect. This is not primary for tuning reasons , but for driveability and MPG's. |
You might want to check this out: there are several 911s here running this FI system.

I am running a Haltech and love it so far. You might check out my website and see how I made my fuel rails, etc.

Mark - any updates? Are you getting any road time on the car yet?

Are you planning to use the stock 930 intake manifold? Most of the modified turbos I have seen go with the 3.2 Carrera unit. The stock 930 unit is said to be restrictive.
I looked at doing this with mine and noticed also that the injectors screw in. Most aftermarket units are of the push in variety. It would be a very clean look to remove the top end of the CIS system leaving only the intake manifold and throttle body. |
