My 76 didnt when i bought it. started to leak from the chain tower bases shortly after i had it. seemed a bit strange!!!!!! very slight leaks but would mark the garage floor. im going to live with them unless they get worse.

Mine marks its territory in the garage with a couple of small spots during the week it sits between weekend drives. Not from the valve covers, I think it's from the pump for the sporto. Not bad enough to worry about yet. It reminds me to check the oil every once in a while.

My 85 will occasionally "spawn" a leak, but I repair it as soon as possible. According to my mechanic (who's been working on 911's for 30+ years and is recognized as a Porsche guru), all 911's leak, either now or later, and all 911 leaks should be numbered...

Yeah I thought you were making a joke thread.

One of my cars barely leaks at all, and the other one makes up for it.

My car holds no grudges. It will leak any oil from any manufacturer.

Replaced the oil return tubes, and the cam lines when I bought it, no leaks now.

My mechanic has always said that an absence of leaks indicates the car is out of oil.

I have a '78 SC and it leaks faster as I can pure in the oil.

The '71T has a drop or 2 after one week sitting on the lift. I just wipe his @ss before I take him to the AX.

Cheers

Sometimes a drop. Especially when I have been neglecting it (all standstill and no drive makes Percy Porsche a leaky boy)

I used to call my 83 the Valdez because of the amount of oil it would leak. Replaced the oil return lines last year and not a drop since (knock on wood).

Thumbs up

I had the big leaks fixed (front / rear main seals) when I bought the car. It still leaks a bit from the #8 bearing, but its scabbed over so no drips--so long as I don't clean the engine. I will get a drop or two if I just pull the car out of the garage without a real drive. My mechanic told me to expect some leaks and to get used to it--a waste of money to chase them all.
