-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If they are timed differently, but are the same cam , my assumption is that earlier timing equals greater low end torque. If this is true, does anyone know what is the torque difference? How is the torque curve affected? Not to be boring, but a highly respected Porsche shop in Los Angeles, REDLINE, [for over 40 years]said to me once that many guys who had installed E-cams on street cars changed over to 4.2 cams for better street action. The 4.2 related to timing, but that was the vocabulary. In UP-FIXIN VOL V, p.21 the chart shows 1966 911 cam with int. .439 and ex. .406 and timing of 4.2 to 4.6mm. Where does all this fit in a 2.7 with SSI and 40 IDAs that does cross-country rides at 3300 to 4000 rpm. Torque is everything for agility. RS forged, flat top pistons were installed at rebuild to give me flexability in picking the ideal cam.
