name for Porsche color code help wanted
I have a 75S targa the color code on the door jam plate looks like: 331-9-3 A
The car is medium blue metallic, can anyone tell me the name for this color? [/B]Any other data such as Dupont or other brand code matches etc would be appreciated. Here is a pic of the car http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1250192020.jpg |
That may be a custom color since it is not in my list. Can you email me a photo of the badge and the VIN please? Do you have a COA yet, that might be a good thing to do. Very interesting.

paint code
Looks like it might be 334 not 331 which I think makes it Metallic blue. Can anyone verify if 334 is metallic blue for 1975?
Thanks |
I don't have a complete list for 1975, but this may answer your question:

blue
I think the 4 didn't imprint well so it looks like a 1 but I'm sure now it was suppose to be 334 not 331. Metallic blue seems to be what I have matched with color chips also, thanks for the info.

Colour Code
334 is shown in the 'Special Order' Colour Codes for the 1973 MY it is described simply as Metallic Blue
Prussian Blue Metallic seems darker http://www.motorcities.com/photo/viewer/01FIK540109331B |
334 is metallic blue alright. 1972-75:

Color reminds me of Gemini blue.. although I don't know the code for that one. I do know that it was available in 73 and I have seen it on later cars.
Another thing intersting about this 75, check out the early S rocker panel and fender well trim. I think some of the 74 - 77 911s came with the trim on the wheel but the rockers were usually body color. |
