new and looking for 1st p-car

Hi,I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now.I have to say what a great resource you guys are.I hope that I will be able to contribute one day.

I have been looking for a car for a few months now and I really didn't understand how rare a nice clean car is to find.At first I just wanted an air cooled Porsche. But from researching I have really narrowed it down to what I am really looking for.But I have to say there are not too many out there. The few so far I wanted to consider are bought up by dealers are detailed immediately and for sale a couple weeks later and marked up 5k.So its a little frustrating for me.

I may be new to P-cars,But In my former career (7yrs. ago)I was a Toyota and Lexus master technician.I know that these cars are way different than any Asian vehicles,But I am looking forward to my first engine drop.

Having said that, finding a car w/o rust, good original paint,w/o ODO problems, trashed interiors are tough to come by.Let alone thinking about a PPI.And yes I would do a PPI if nothing else to see what the car really is and understanding what I am getting into.

Anyway,Thanks again for such a great forum!

BTW,looking for a 87-89 targa original paint,zero rust,factory spoilers,under 150k,no red or white paint color...black or camel(correct color name?) interior...sport seats and limited slip a plus.........So yea,having a hard time finding one...

good luck. i searched for about 7 or 8 months until i found mine. i had roughly the same criteria as you but found i had to make some concessions. i ended up with a car that had no rust, solid motor and trans, good interior and original paint but the paint was far from perfect. while it was still glossy with no swirl marks from 10' it was perfect but up close there were a lot of small dings and chips in the paint. you are going to shell out quite a bit more to find the 'perfect' 911 so the paint was the issue i let go on.
