Putting a targa back to original after it was Cabriod !
Hi
I was offered an 1974 Targa that was converted to a cabrio back in the 80s , the folding top is missing off the car now so maybe its time to return it to a Targa, So are all the Targa rear windows and roll bars the same , is the brushed stainless cover the same ? Did they normally leave the Targa door glass in these conversions ? thanks for your help SB

for some perspoective, a clean 74 - 77 targa that hasnt been molested can probably be had for less than 10k to the savy hunter. I guess I'd ask if the time and money spent will justify the result.

i would venture that a nice cabriod would be worth more than a nice targa (that had been re-targa'd)
the cost to retarga probably wont justify ? if you want a targa sell the cabrio-t and buy a targa just my opinion though

Personally, I would make it a targa again....but I prefer a targa. Probably would not be too diffcult or expensive if you can find a nice '74 targa that has been hit in the back or front to canabalize. They are totaled pretty easily. Otherwise too much cost/pain IMHO.
If you decide you don't want to take on the project...you might find someone who already has the necessary parts to buy it and invest the proceeds into what you really want.

Hi
thanks for your ideas, the car is probably only $3000 or so since the top and alloys are missing, So I have room in it to put it back to a targa I am sure its been done before ! SB
