Post Will these wheels fit?

Will 15x7 fuchs fit in the front on my stock 72 911E and will 15x8 fit in the back? If so, what size tires should I go with? Right now I have 15x6 cookie cutters with 205/60's on them.

Hi according to Bruce Andersons book, the recommended wheel size is 15x7s and tires 205/60s I can't see why the 15x8s won't fit in the rear. I am putting the same rims on my 77 but I'm not sure what size tires yet?

15x8 will NOT fit the back of a stock 72. I had one many moons ago. I got a 15x7 to fit ok(special offset, which I do not remember). You need to weld on some SC/Carrera flares for the 8's to fit. I also did that, to get the RS look, ducktail and all. The 15x7 will fit fine in the front as long as the offset is ~+23mm.

Early stock 7x15 Fuchs (or Cookie Cutter) wheels will fit in the front and rear of 69-73 911s with 205 tires. Going to larger sized tires (215, 225s) will require stiff suspension, rolling fender lips and the 225s will likely not fit on the rears even then, although for some reason narrow bodied 74-77 911s have more room in the rear. Special offset 7x15 (911R or Revolution) will work with 225s on the rear. 8x15 Fuchs are too wide to fit in the rear unless you have a "magic" early 911 - these were hand-built after all!

Thanks guys. I was going to buy those wheels, but you just saved me some money and disappointment.
