Sunroof Headliner Removal?
Is it possible to remove the sunroof headliner without first removing the sunroof itself?
Thanks! |

Not sure exactly what you mean, but the sunroof piece that holds the headlliner is quite separate from the metal sunroof itself and is easily removable...at least as I remember. (The mind is the second thing to go.)

I think he's asking if you can remove the sliding headliner panel without detaching the metal roof from the guides.
I've never tried it, but I don't think you can do it without spreading the guide rails apart, because it slides forward and back inside the rails. And you can't spread the rails apart without detaching the sunroof from the guides. It also might depend on what model year his car is, which he doesn't say. |

Sorry about the confusion, guys; Dave has it right. The car is an '87. My understanding was that it couldn't be done, but in another thread someone claimed that an upholstery shop had managed to remove/refinish the panel without removing the roof itself.
