CIS gremlins Pt2

Hey got the decell valve working. The next question is: How much should the idle drop when the oil cap is taken off? I get no drop, is there a obvious answer?
Thanks
eric

it shoud be noticeable, how much? i dont know, 2-300 rpm maybe.
replace the gasket in the oil cap and check the hose from the engine to the tank and then to the back of the "turtle" the rubber boot on the AFM. if that is good, maybe the gasket on the cover on the rear of the motor.

Your header says you have a 75S. Rpm drops are from opening the oil tanks sealed system on a 78 and later. Remember your tank vents to the airbox before the filter so your tank is always open.
If you wanted to change that all you have to do is install the SC black boot between the airflow sensor and the throttle body then install the hose from the tank to the boot in the front.\Bruce

good catch. i posted a thread a while back encouraging people to put the year of their car in the title of the thread or the body, now you know why.

Thanks guys!
The FSM talks about the oil cap gasket but gives no symptoms nor indications.
Gotta love this board!

What would be the benefit of doing this to an early car?
