tonneau cover option

1984 porsche cabriolet.
Was the tonneau cover a true factory option or was it a dealer add on. It a true factory option does anyone know the option number. If it was a factory option then it would be legal to install one on an SCCA XP class car. If it was a dealer add-on then it wouldn't count.
This not the boot to cover the top. This is the cover for the cabin when the top is down.

I think it was a factory option--should be option code 070 (Tonneau cover - Cabriolet).

Also, the part number is: 911 561 089 60 (from illustration 811-40 in the PET).

BTW, I need a C.R.A.P. member number!

My 84 didn't come to me with a tonneau, but it DID come to me with the tenax fasteners already installed on the dash, and they had black plastic nubs on them. I didn't know what they were until after I bought a full tonneau.

Thank you all. It appears it should be legal to install and compete with the cover in place. Now the question becomes can it be modified to fit around the roll bars and such. That question has been posed to SCCA HQ we will see.
