Can broken Tachometers be repaired??

Hello
My car's tach was dead when I bought it, so I bought a used one and swapped it in. It worked for awhile, but then the voltage regulator went. Replaced the VR and shortly thereafter the tach started working erratically then finally not at all. Guessing the VR failing was the cause of its demise.

So now I have 2 non functioning tachs. Can they be fixed or are they junk once they are fried?

Dan

IF the problem is the actual tach units, I'm sure a place like North Hollywood Speedo can repair them for you.

I sent my tachometer and speedometer to North Hollywood a few years ago and they did a great job! No problems since...

Pelican Parts can rebuild your tach. I just sent mine to them. They said it usually costs $150-$200.

Hi Grant, yes just ship it to us and put a note inside the box explaining the problem, your contact information and also if you want to be informed of the cost before the repair is made. Then we'll give your gauge to our tech who will open it up and see what's wrong and give us an estimate that we can forward to you.
If you decide to have us do that, you can send the gauge to us at; Pelican Parts, Attn: Gauge Repair, 120 Standard Street, El Segundo, CA 90245
