Looks like this guy's car got stolen in the midst of the auction?
Wonder whether his insurance is worth the but it now option. ------------------ Matt Macpherson 1975 911 S nvalve@yahoo.com |

Now I know why my car spends it's time in a locked & alarmed garage, a pit bull sleeping near. I was sad to see a '73S chopped up, but we did that a lot back in the good ol' days...but even sadder to see that the car was stolen. There should be a special place in Hell reserved for car thieves, and put the car vandals nearby! Assuming the car in overall good shape? The "buy it now" price wasn't that bad. Certainly more spent on the modifications than the asking price...

Very nice car. Sorry it was lifted. If it's not recovered soon, we'll unfortunately see pieces of it at the next swap meet. Let's keep an eye out.

I'm alittle more sceptical than all of you.
Did it get stolen or did he decide not to sell, sell to another party or even decide that it wasnt going to reach reserve and cancel the auction in an attempt not to pay ebay the insertion fee. Who knows ????? |

Color me skeptical as well. The car's been on eBay for around a month, if I'm not mistaken, never getting close to the reserve. I've always felt bad, cause it looks like one of those deals where the seller put his heart into a car and realizes he'll never get his money back out.

Sardonic Viewpoint:
Looks like the fix was in. The insurance company is always a good paying customer. Too bad for State Farm. I'll shed a tear for them later. For now, I'm going out to chainsaw some big oak trees next to my driveway. say a prayer for the those higly profitable Insurance companies. Rich |

State Farm and most other insurance companies are mutual corporations. They are not owned by stockholding investors but by their policy holders who cover all losses. This means the policy holders' rate rise as payouts increase, they fall as they decrease. Yes, insurance fraud comes out of all of our pockets, not some nameless, faceless fatcat investor's.
