Post 959 Parts

Check out these prices from the 'Running Report' on a 959 in 911 & Porsche World magazine this month:

[*]Set of Bridgestone tires: $4,200[*]New Motor: $126,000 (plus installation)[*]Motor rebuild kit: $77,000[*]2 Oil Pressure Sending Units: $1,260[*]Distributor Cap (installed) : $1,680[*]Tire pressure sending units (2 per wheel): $2,500 each ($20,160 for the set).[/list]
And I thought $1350 was a lot of money for a genuine early S bumper-spoiler.

I don't get that mag regularly, but I did check it out a year ago, and they had an article about a guy that uses his 959 as a daily driver! Through rain, snow, to the store, whatever. He takes the 959.

I'd imagine it is that same guy, there probably are not a lot of 959 daily drivers out there!

Geez...if he has a 959 as a daily driver, what does he use for a little excitement on the weekends...?

That's the same guy! He owns the Zymol distributorship in the UK and uses the car to promote the product. Now, that's my idea of a business deduction!

After the repairs he's had to do in the last few months, he says it's up for sale.

Hello

The 959 is a very good daily driver. As every 911 it is very practicable and you will easy spot the car when you come out from the mall. Tell those guys it is a good made fake on a 72/2,4 chassis and smile.

Well yes the runing costs are a bit high but its worth the money. If not the owner would have switched to an other car.

And yes you can have everyday exitment with a 959 and to top it off you take a 962 or 917 for the weekend. The 959 is very civizised, a bit to soft for the racetrack and makes less noise then a stock 964.

The best off all is if you hit on a new 996 TT or GT2/GT 3 you can show him the progress from 15 years.

As far I remember this must be the Car from Trevor Baker. Wounder with what car you can replace a 959 ? Maybe a Mini Cooper ? Or a Mc Laren F1 ?

But there are some others out there as daily drivers. Porsche still maintains 1-2 cars the month and send lots of wheelsets around the world even wintertires.

Grüsse
