Ignition switch electrical part swap tip

The electrical part of my ignition switch failed and I was not looking forward to removing the mechanical steering column lock -- I'd done it before and the result was, ah, untidy.

The car is a '72 and is mostly unmolested, but had standard blade type screws holding the electrical portion to the back of the switch, instead of the usual philips. To say they were hard to remove would be an understatement.

So, although I never expect to replace it again, I sourced 7mm X 4mm hex head bolts to reinstall the electrical portion. By cutting down a standard hex key to about 1/2 length, I was able to guide the bolts into place. Installing the electrical part of the switch became a trivial task.

Hope this helps someone in future.
