PMO Gasket-is it backwards?
Fooling with float levels, I reassembled my PMO's with new gaskets. Car now runs badly, though float levels are good. Looking at the old gaskets, it occurs to me I could have put one of these in backwards, which would block an internal passage I'm guessing. PMO talks about this happening with the early air cleaner to carb gasket, but not with the main carb body to carb top gasket. Can anyone confirm I may have done this wrong before I tear into these again? Thanks,

gaskets
The later carb body gaskets are racer proof, the earlier ones however will cover up the idle air bleed holes and it will run pig rich if they are reversed. If you look at your air filter base plates you will see the smaller holes near the main jet stacks, those are the critical holes.

Well you were right. Richard at PMO says you can't get it wrong; the idle air valve protrudes above the top main carb surface so that the top casting (holding the float valves) couldn't seat properly if the gasket were backwards. So I've done some other dumb thing. Thanks again.
