Clutch Throwout Lever and short legs

Hi,

My car is areal mungrel, a mix of different parts and dates all working together, just. I have know about my throwout lever being from a 72-74 gearbox since early on but it has not been a big problem even throught gearbox is an 86. But now that I am changing the setup to make it more fitted to me by moving pedals steering wheel and seat it has rasied this issue.

The throwout lever is longer than the later version.....which means that the pedal travel is greater to disangage the clutch...which then means that my seat position needs to be far forward ( short legs desease ). This make the go and stop pedals to close.

So the question is if I replace the throwout lever with a later version what will the pedal travel distance change by? Will I have less travel and therefore be able to move the seat back?

Thanks

Mark........
