it is best to use as cold a plug as you can that does not foul. i use the NGK BPR7's in my 2.7 or bosch W5's. use the copper plugs. i have used the W4, a colder plug that did not foul, but it was not as clean as the W5. ( the hotter plug cleans itself better). i also have an MSD 6AL unit. gap, i have tried from 45-60, could not tell any difference. if the engine is stock, i dont think any of this is an improvement unless it is replacing something that was bad. porsche already got all they could out of the ignition for a stock motor.

Amen. As cold as won't foul. Try the 7's and if you have fouling trouble (more likely with light use on cold days than in the heat of summer) go to the 6's. The NGK has a nice simple guide to "reading" spark plugs which I find very useful. And don't waste time with gaps...without a dyno I don't think you'll see a difference. I run mine at .032" right from the factory.

if you do a lot of idleing, use hotter, like 6, NGK6 and bosch 6 are the same. highway driving use 7 or W5. i run my car rich and it is fine with the 7's. i drove my car to nashville with W4's in it and from the highway driving they looked very clean and like new, dirving around town on W4's they were black, but still did not foul even though they were used, out of a 930, when i put them in.

i do a lot of highway driving and I am running more voltage than stock ignition, so I know I need bigger gap. I think I have my question answered now though. thanks for the help. I know my plugs are about gone right now.
