Brake caliper paint, baking?
I need to paint my rear calipers(911 S 1971). I have bought the repair kit, but have not planned to split the calipers. Will the rubber seal inside the caliper cope with the 160 degrees Celsius needed to bake the paint? In heavy breaking the caliper gets very hot, but 160 degrees? (I am not referring to the rubber seal around the piston or the dust shield, they will be changed for new ones)
Thanks John

i used that product on one of my other cars and i was very impressed with it. it is a 2 part paint solution and the kit comes with everything you need including cleaner and a little application brush. you have to apply multiple coats (it took me 2.5 total) but there is easily enough paint in the kit to do 2 or 3 cars. over a year later and it still cleans up super easy with no chips or marks and a gloss shine. no baking needed either.

I painted the calipers on my Boxster - first, I tried the brush-on stuff, but it turned out crummy. So, I sprayed Duplicolor caliper spray - still looks great, and holds up well to mud, dirt, brake fluid, etc.

Frankly folks, ordinary Krylon works just fine; mine are on year five and they still look fine. No baking, and cheap. And yes my calipers get plenty hot. And if you don't like the look of it in a year, do it again.
