Installing a 993 engine on a 930 G50

We have taken the pill and started a backdate of a 993 Turbo look converted car, that was based on a 72 shell... I know.... Please don't ask...

The car was converted to G50 back in the 90s, and now it will be done a 73 RSR rep.
The car had a really fast Euro 930 engine on it (which is fresh and for sale BTW), plugged to a G50 gbox and rear tunnel.

We have installed the 993 engine on it, but it seems to be short on its engine mounts, although only about 1cm (less than 1/2 inch) whereas the 930 was spot on. Is the 993 engine shorter or has the chassis grown up with age ?

I believe those mnts on the later eng were designed with different chassis mnts in mind, you
must bend or push the eng mnt ears back to align..

Thanx, but could u b a little more specific pls ?

Let me try to be more clear, the eng crossmember (two wide arms extending side to side)
will need to be angled back (only slightly) to accomodate the differing alighnment
(early eng mnts as opposed to later design mnts), hope this helps ,your only 1/2 inch away right ?

yeap. I am only 1/2 inch (less actually) away.
Engine mounts are NOT the standard 1972 as per the shell, but these were changed for the 930 engine, but now tthey are far away from the 993 mounts

If you are using the stock 993 cross bar this is a great time to reinforce it. They are a little thin at the ends IMO.

What do you mean by cross bar ?

no offense but are you dislexic?
