Custom fit front and rear speakers from Alpine

Short heads-up for folks looking for a (relatively) cheap upgrade from the original paper speakers and who want to retain the original grills without cutting.
The Alpine SXE series are a perfect match.
Link SXE-1325S for the front 5-1/4 and for the back Link SXE-4625S in 6x4. They come without a grill. I haven't installed them yet but it couldn't be any worse than the stock set-up (original Blaupunkt Monterey plus Blaupunkt speakers)

Have you checked the depth of the rears? I bought some 4x6's (may have been Polk, it's been a while) and they were too tall. There isn't a lot of room in there.

Originals are 5 cm deep, these are 3.7 cm. Shouldn't be a problem. You can have a look in their catalogue for the dimensions, page 28.

The cover is very slighty curved as the top part of the speaker is a few mm's thicker than the original ones. Fronts are perfect.

the type-e speakers are not available in the US but they do offer the type-s series that has 5.25 and 4x6 sized speakers.
