What's the difference between WUR types (part numbers)
On my way to fix and understand my car's WUR, I realized there's a lot of different Bosch part numbers even for completely similar looking regulators...
Does anyone know what's the difference between them ? I'm guessing different warm/cold control pressures, different times to reach warm pressure ? Is there some cross reference that lists all the possibilities ? |

Here is the best summary I have found:
http://members.rennlist.com/jimwms/CIS/Testing/wur_specs.html The .XXX number following the model year is the last three digits of the Bosch part number. Note that some discrepancies in the factory literature for some of the 2.7s. - Taylor |
Getting access to a table that cross references all WUR types, not just those used by Porsche, would also be useful.
It might more easily allow exchanges with different types without resorting to the "knocking the pin" kind of adjustment... wishful thinking... |
Hera are a few charts:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1252428165.jpg

I think I could make a lot of money if I designed and produced a digital programmable WUR that had a USB connection and used a basic computer program to control it.
I could be rich and famous, if only I was smart enough. It shouldn't be that hard, the only thing it does is control pressure based upon temperature, it has a consistent power in, the only thing that changes is the control pressure out, how hard could it be? Even better it could have a knob on it that has settings for 78 - 79 - 80- 80WO wait even better I could label the knob settings with the CP out. I'm going to work on it.SmileWavy |
