Headliner Delete?

Anyone delete their headliner altogether? I have stripped out all the material, as well as the foam and am thinking of painting the ceiling rather than go through the trouble of re-upholstering the headliner. It kind of looks nice I think.

Show me some pictures if possible.

Thanks.

I'm considering the same thing. (Picture pinched this from another thread)

The owner applied the sound deadening to the roof then painted it black so there would be no silver showing through the OEM perforated head liner.

I was thinking about using Dynamat on the roof then covering that with black felt.

I'm talking proper "school craft felt" like the 911R.

We have done all different combinations with regards to the inner roof. If you just paint it, you will drive yourself nuts with the road noise transmitted thru the structure. Put a layer of foam or dyna mat material to cut down the noise. Then cover it with felt or perlon material ala 911R

I think the Dynamat solution is good. I could cut each piece first, then layer it with a fabric before I adhere it. I am sure others have done something similar.
