So my car stopped turning to the right...

And it turns out I want to drive to places on the right.

But seriously, my steering was feelin sketchy for a while, sticking and binding a bit every now and then. Now it wont turn to the right at all... Where should I start, is this something I should try to fix myself? Any help would be great.

Oh, its a 76 912E.. i posted it here because the steering is more 911 than 912?

Always going Left, eh? Are you sure that this post doesn't belong in the political forum?

My guess would be the rack & pinion has a problem. But first just get a good look under there for any foreign bodies or loose parts causing a bind.

If you want to do some trouble shooting I would start by putting the car up on jack stands and taking off the front wheels so you can look around. If it's a real hard binding or stop then I doubt it's in the upper steering column bearing. Plus that would probably bind equally in both directions.

I think with the front end unweighted you might be able to see or hear the problem. Get a second person to work the steering wheel while you put your eyes and ears to different areas of the front end.

Foreign bodies? You mean like Canadians?

Could also be the steering lock on the ignition switch.
