964 Gages in an earlier car

I'm considering replacing all five gages in my car (1978 SC) with 964 gages.
The reason I'm considering this is because 964 gages are backlit and I can get a full set for cheap. (Mine have seen better days)

I'm guessing this has been done before...

Please post any information you may have.

Thanks in advance.

I knew it has been done and a quick search found this old post for a set of gauges for sale but in the post is a gentleman who did the swap..

Maybe if you search his postings by name you might find info on it/ or not..Maybe he could give you info if he still has the car or remembers what he did..

Good luck

Gregg

Here is when I did mine Gauge update to 993/964 done (pictures)

And the link above is when I did mikez's car. All pretty straight forward except for the gas gauge. You need to get the converter to drive the 964 gauge.

Just one more question...

Would the tach output of an MSD 6AL ignition drive a 964 tacho?
