rent a 911 in San Antonio/Austin area?

Looks like I'll be in San Antonio for a conference around the time the Hill Country rally takes place this year; sure would be nice to run it again, or at least show up in a running 911. However, as my car is in pieces in my garage (and basement, and storage unit...) near Chicago, odds of it also making the trip are nil.

So, if anyone has heard of an option to rent a 911 of any vintage in south central Texas, please let me know. Yes, I recognize this is unlikely...

Al,

Hope to see you there! There is always a passenger seat available if you need it.

If I could just get my freaking 72 together I would get it down there somehow, but that's not happening in time. Side note: kudos to Souk for the SC engine he brought out to my house in the wasteland of northern Illinois.

So, odds are I'll be in a rental Chevy Aveo with a drooping headliner. Not the best kit for rally fun...

even more so to own, fix or replace one because some yayhoo thought he could go 150 in your car on public roads and THEN learn about understeer (recall a ferrari enzo hitting a cement barrier in a parking lot)

Yep - check out the price to rent a Lambo. Wonder how many rentals it would take to recoup the owner's loss after insurance paid up on a totaled Gallardo. If the insurer knows they are renting them out, deductibles must be sky-high.
