going from standard ign. switch to toggle switches
 
i was wondering if anyone has converted their standard ign. switch to toggle switches and push button starter? i need help in wiring up toggle switches for ignition, fuel pumps, aux. fan, and adding kill switch to turn off everything including altenator. diagrams or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Check the load carrying capacity of your push-button start before hooking it up. I used a relay so very little current goes through the switch itself.

I currently (unintentionally) have a push-button starter in my car. My ignition switch recently failed for a second time in that the tumbler isn't making the contact in the final position to engage the starter motor. So I pulled the piece off the back of the ignition switch, found which two pins engage the starter (by trial and error - make sure the car is in neutral!) and ran 2 wires out of it, into a generic normally-open push-button switch. Found it at Canadian Tire for about $5 - they had all sorts of different ones. It works absolutely perfectly, in fact so well that I won't bother fixing the ignition switch until the car goes away for the winter.

You can wire everything through the back of the ignition switch with just a little trial and error. The hard part will be fabricating and installing a panel with the correct switches that looks nice.
