Suspension woes
Hi guys,
I have an 86 Carrera Coupe and the damndest thing happen. The car has been working great, minus a few little things, haha. The other day I was out driving and notcied that in the corners I seemed to get a bit jumpy at the wheels. I get it home and park it in the garage and it is leaning bad toward the drivers side front. I look closer and the front wheel drivers side is almost right up inside the wheel well. I let it sit a few minutes and it eventually came back up to level. I jacked up the car, took the wheel off and inpected things, there wan't any fluid from the shock/strut area and from what I can tell the torsion bar seems ok. I put another jack underneath the shock and compressed it, then let it go, it did rebound but really slow, and probably not fully. Do you think I just have shock bind or something. I was going to upgrade all the shocks anyway, but I want to be sure that is the cause. The A-arms look fine, as does everything else, nothing visible at all. Has anyone had a similar issue or suggestions what I can do to be sure. The car still drives fine, except in corners, and it always relevels after it sits or when on a straight road. Oh yeah, when I kneel on the bumber to compress the shock I seem to be getting a creaking sound that wasn't there before, would that be because of teh bad shock the torsion bar is fighting it Thanks |

When i replaced the original shocks, struts on my 89 Coupe this summer i discovered that the front ones were toasted... Hard to tell when they`re installed on the car but once i removed the original Boge front struts to replace the cartridges i noticed that one of them was completely collapsed...
Went with Bilsteins all around and it made a noticeable improvement !
