Porsche Crest New Member

Howdy, new member to these boards, I'm very impressed with the quality of advise I've read. After owning a 86' 944 in Germany, I had always promised myself I'd someday own a 911. Recently purchased this 86' 911 with 114K on her. Have the records back to 53K. My good friend, a highly skilled Porsche mechanic inspected her with me and said, 'If you don't buy it, I will!' Enough said. Previous owner took fine care of her and did many upgrades. New tires, lowered to Euro specs, Bilstein shocks and struts, short shift kit, H4 headlights, Momo steering wheel and one sweet audio system. Interior's a '10', exterior is a 5-10 footer

I love how this car handles and looks, can't stop turning around to look at it.

So far (with my friends help) I have replaced a broken sunroof cable, and rear deck lid struts. I have learned that the Germans designed this beautiful car after drinking LOTS of delicious German beer or were masochists.

Will have many stupid questions for ya'll, the more I know about this car, the more I realize I don't know! I've never felt more inept and clueless than when I worked on that sunroof cable! Look forward to sharing ideas and advise in the future...

Tony

Nothing wrong with "10 footers". Mine is as well.

Welcome aboard. I believe we have a good amount of Pelicans in Ohio. I'm sure you will have many offers of assistance, should you need it.

Sweet ride, your garage is way to clean! Welcome to the madness. In my travels across the world (literally) I've met plenty of great Pelicans. A piece of advise, if you go on this, or other forums, don't say (type) things you wouldn't say to that persons face. There are a few here who don't probably expect to ever meet another person from the forums in person. Be helpful, treat everyone with respect.

Good looking car & welcome.

It sounds like all it needs is some "tlc" to change it from a 5-10 footer to a real beauty. Of course there are many products that improve the exterior appearance, but I've found that using the Meguiars products "by the numbers" worked best.

I certainly must applaud your excellent taste in color selection.

(Oh, and this photo of my '87 is before I lowered the car, repainted the wheels & caps, installed the 1-in-2-out muffler, euro premuffler, sw chip, and rear bumper mods. Can anyone say "slippery slope"?)
