'72 911 S Coupé restoration project
Hi guys,
I finally got it home from the previous owner a few days ago. It's a sad sad car, but it is a '72 S Coupé, and it is mine! ![]() It actually came out of a barn, but I can't call it a "barn find" since it was advertized. The previous got other priorities, the same old story. ![]() It's 935 converted, with fiberglass front fenders, and the rear is actually made in steel, even the Testarossa air intakes. The front is so ugly I have to hide it behind the trash dumpster.... ![]() I can see the original green metallic on a number of locations, even though it seems to be pretty well built (destroyed?) in the mid 80-ies. ![]() It's rusty too, not that bad, has some rust in rockers and some in the front of the floor. The 2,4 S Engine is gone, probably removed late 70-ies or early 80-ies in Germany, so now I have to start scanning the market for a 911/53. I have a '72 2,4 E Engine that will do for now. It has a running '76 2,7S now, which will be excellent in another project I have. The interior is missing most of the early stuff, and looks ok considering. The most annoying part is that the roof is changed, since the car was delivered with a sunroof. ![]() This thread won't be updated daily, maybe not monthly either, since this car is a 5 year project. I just thought I should contribute back to the message board for all the help I have gotten! I have decided not to start breaking it apart until my other project (-s) are finished, and I have collected all the body parts. I know, it's a crazy project, but you CA guys are so spoiled when it comes to restoration. Your restoration projects don't even have rust! Thanks, Johan

Jepp, I know at least one, but they are pricey.
Where are you located? Johan
