Carrera/ BMW 'timing mark sender' interchangeable part number
I am looking to replace all of the sensors on my 84 Carrera. I have heard a rumor and read on various threads that the expensive part number 911-606-215-01-M14, 'Timing mark sensor' listing for $147, is identical to a cheaper BMW motronic part from the same year. Yet there are several of these BMW sensors available.
Does anyone here know which part number is it from this pelican BMW parts page? http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/catalog/shopcart/BE28/POR_BE28_ELgage_pg1.htm#item0 12-14-1-708-618-M14? 12-14-1-710-668-M85? 12-14-1-708-619-M14? Thanks |
Don't know but could you somehow check the part numbers with Bosche?
I like this sort of thinking. Why not do the research and get a better deal? Good effort! |
Do a search using the name Thrasher - there is an older, extensive thread, and it was up again a few weeks ago with exactly the info you need.

At half the price of the Porsche part#, 12-14-1-708-619-M14 fits and works perfectly. Have had one on my car since May without any issues. The wire is about 1" longer and is the only difference.
