'87 period-correct, harness-worthy seats
There was a car in Excellence a few months ago that has piqued my interest. It was a changeling. The owner could convert it from a tourer to what the R Gruppe would call a sport purpose vehicle in a little over an hour. Regular seats out, "racing" seats, bolt-in roll 1/2 roll cage, and harnesses in (among other changes). I'm considering doing something along those lines with my car. I'm looking for info on and pictures of seats from that era that would be used with harnesses.

There are options that do not require all that effort each time unless you are talking about entering full out fender to fender racing.
Recaro and others make reclining seats that hold very well in a corner, are very comfortable, and have a center hold for a 5 point or upper holes for the sholder belts. Most DE's and TT's do not longer require a roll bar, race seats, or 5/6 point harnesses. Check with the groups you are going to run with. Often, if you do one like fit a shell seat, you then have to do all. |

I'd be doing the sport seat/harness thing by choice. I've run the DEs with my stock seat, belt and a g-lock. Doing Mid-Ohio in 10 days. I'm looking to spice things up a bit with another seat, harnesses, etc.

I've been thinking about this too. Here are some options for recliners.
On ebay right now, used in some Ruf cars, the Koenig 5000 ![]() Or the Recaro Sportster: ![]() Or 993 sport seats ($); I have seen people cut holes and reinforce for a harness. ![]() Or modify stock Carrera seats with this from GTS Classics: ![]()
