JG GT500 09-16-2009 05:54 PM

Congrats! How many chassis miles?

Steeve 09-16-2009 05:56 PM

For a targa, any price is a good price. LOL

That's a great looking SC. I like the tail on the targa. Nice combo.

i dont think you did bad, even though they ran out of parts and had to put garden furniture parts in to finish the roof ... .

JJ 911SC 09-16-2009 06:16 PM

Funny... Especially when compare to # 3 comment...

80-911SC 09-16-2009 06:45 PM

don't take it to wrong at least they still call it a 911 first in the name...

this would be a whole different conversation if it were a 914, or 944 or , well you get the point.

Hope none of them read this message board , i could make a comment about reading but I'll pass on that. there are some purdy pictures hear though... .

Thanks chassis miles is 190,000 service records I have cv,wheel bearings brakes and rotors were all changed less then 2,000 miles ago. This will be fun to learn how to work on I am used to my e30 engine and chassis but I will learn

I've heard that before about the looking up while driving ...

not the best idea , i usually try to keep most of my vision out the front part, but i guess i could open the sunroof and get the same result. but then i could hit the button and pooff back to covered, and also not as much road noise as a targa...

Cab guys road noise is (already got the targa's riled I'll stop now while is still fun...

any Porsche is better than most cars , but a 911 is (i"m going to stop before the 930and 965 and the others chime up) ... y'all have a nice day and if you own A PORSCHE ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE , WHETHER IN GARAGE OR ON THE ROAD ... .

brads911sc 09-17-2009 06:05 PM

Nice Car. Congrats and enjoy.

relayswitcher 09-17-2009 06:56 PM

A good buy. And the line should be AWWWWWWsome a Targaaaaaaaa!!! I like mine just fine. "Don't be dissin' if you don't know what you're missin'." My little girl says "Daddy, people who don't like Targas don't have hair for 'blowing in the wind'. Which reminds me, "Rest in peace Mary Travers of Peter, Paul, & Mary"

Sheeeesh, why would anyone in there right mind hack the outstanding roof lines of a coupe and put a hole in it is beyond me. Then have the hassle of allowing leaks and rattles along with that "bar". Well to each there own......(that should spark some debate).
Anyway, that is a good deal for an 81, I paid around 10K 4 years ago so does that equate to SC's dropping in value or are people just unloading there toys? Hope the value goes up, soon.

mike1971 09-18-2009 12:12 PM

Thanks all for the welcome. I have been doing a lot of studying past couple of days on porsche targas my last project was rebuilding my 87 e30 that was completed in the spring. My daughter isrebuilding a 79 cj7 {help} and I also have a 97 miata that is under construction. So my garage is full and now with the Targa I am forced to build a bigger garage. YES!!!!! I will be at hershey in the Spring!!!!

fintstone 09-19-2009 09:56 AM
