An intermittent clunk/knock from passenger side
Hey all,
My 79 911 developed a knock/clunk from the passenger side and here's the symptoms. -passenger side -thought it was from the front but not completely sure -tempo of the clunk coordinates to the speed of car not rpms -turning does not make it clunk -on a drive to Lowes, when I left the house it was not doing it but on the way back home it was. ??? -seems to happen after driving a while -can make it come on or louder if accelerating and will quiet down on decelleration -took the front passenger wheel off because there seems to be a touch of play when wiggling the tire and wheel around (like the wheel isn't tightened down) -tried to wiggle again by grabbing the brake disc but couldn't find the same play. -tightened lug nuts -stock suspension and all original as far as I know. What am I looking at guys and girls? Thanks. |
Check your front strut. It might be time to replace it

What would I do to check it?

Possibly worn sway bar bushings. It took me a long time to find this on my car. The clunking occurred when cornering and when going over speed bumps. It stopped when I disconnected the drop links.
