1976 911 "Signature S" advice?

OK, so i bought this nice clean 76 911S by owner and it has 930 fenders and tail on it and it has been repainted white. Unfortunately or fortunately, they did a very nice job on it. The engine and interior were removed for painting. The engine was rebuilt as well. Anyone have any idea on what this car would be worth if it were restored to original. It still has the original interior although there are some tears in the seats. I don't have a ton of money to invest. Maybe it is a candidate to sell to someone who would be more financially capable of restoring it. I was told that there were only 200 of these made. If it is something truly rare, I would hate to see it not restored. Thanks for your advice.

Maybe things have changed in the last couple of years but I had one of those for sale back in 2006 and noone was interested in it. Everything was there, it had a fresh 2.7l in it built by a very reputible local builder, and the car was in bare metal ready for paint. However it needed the rockers replaced, otherwise the sheet metal was perfect. The original trim and wheels (which are unique to the car) were still present, as was the plaque and signed steering wheel. It ran and drove. We put it out there for $7500 for the better part of a year.

At the time I searched to see if there was some sort of registry for the cars and nothing came up. Really noone seemed to care about the model at all. Eventually after several people inquired about just the engine, we pulled it and sold it off for $4500. Then the car was stripped of most of the interesting parts and I am a bit ashamed to say so, but it was sold to a Porsche vendor who cut it in half, put the halves on rotisseries and turned it into a display for SEMA.

I don't know if that information helps you or not. Back then there was no interest in it. Maybe now they're more collectible.

Matt, thanks for the response. I figured that was the case. The car is really rare but there are no really no added features performance wise etc. Maybe it is so rare no one knows about it. LOL. Anyway, the car has the rear 930 flares installed but not the front. I am guessing someone found a wrecked 930 and salvaged the fenders and tail. My plan is to find some front flares and finish what the previous owner started.
