This car has been for sale for a while. I saw it up close last year when it was parked next to mine at the Quail Motorsports Gathering. It's very clean, and very, very nice. Sport model, which is rare, but the sport models also don't have air conditioning, which is kindof a bummer (particularly if you live in Scottsdale!). I know the owner of this car - very nice fellow. He spend a *lot* of money with Canepa on this car, and whomever buys this car is going to be getting a great deal, if you look solely at invoices over the past 3-4 years.

I've already forwarded a bunch of people who were looking for 959s to this car, I guess none of them bought it yet.

The owner of this car is into it for far, far more than the market is dictating right now.

"1980" ???

He might want to get the year right in his ad header.

Is that a realistic price for the car? Not sure I would go the ebay route in that range!

Just curious, how much is the market dictating? How has that changed?
thanks,

Wayne - We all own Porsches that we have far more into than what we could sell them for. In this turbulent economy, there is no way this car is going to fetch that kind of scratch.

Other thoughts:
1) Auction listed as a 1980 model..even though it is a 1988 ("island" picked up on this)

2) The car actually has closer to 15,000 miles NOT 1,858 miles as listed in the auction heading.

3) Does the "Sport model" have the roll cage (looks like aluminum) as standard?

Parting thought: "Project Outline: Rob bank to buy this car"

The odometer in the photos sure looks like 1858 to me. Seems a shame he didn't drive it more though.

WTF is up with that $1M supposed prototype 901? Nigerian scam?

From the blurb at the bottom -

"Odometer reading at the time of Canepa conversion was 19927km. As documentation shows, speedometer was converted to mph during upgrade period and conversion. Current reading is 1858 miles. "

"Please disregard vehicle year in title. It wouldn't allow 1988 with the V.I.N."
