iphone mounts

I am having difficulty getting my iphone to stay put to get a good dynolicious timed run and was wondering if I could see some pic of how folks are mounting their phones. I have seen a few in searches but I figure there are others out there.

Tom Tom is coming out with a nav package for the iphone that includes a cool mount (see pic), allows you to charge the phone while mounted, and will presumably let you use other apps at the same time. No word yet on a specific release date.

I put mine in the ashtray. You could also use some of that soft plastic "put your glasses etc. on the dash" stuff and keep it on top of the e-brake/heat lever housing. Either one would be preferable to me than putting it on the windshield and potentially obscuring lines of sight.

That looks good. Would be able to see the stats as they come in.

The Arkon mount with the suction cup would fit nicely on the clock's gauge face. My Garmin Nuvi is mounted there and it works really well (here's a pic off of Rennlist to give you an idea of the setup)...my Garmin is a smaller model that does not obscure the speedo at all, I'm sure the iPhone's narrow profile would also not block the speedo.

Got the boost gauge there but it looks nice.

Here's something that I made to hold my iPhone.
Works brilliantly, if I do say so myself.

My how to guide:
Ultimate 911 iPhone Mount / Homemade Clock Delete

That looks great and I was going to try to copy it until I put the boost gaugee in that spot.

that is the best cradle/charger i have found for my 3g. it charges, adjustable more ways than necessary and uses an aux-out signal instead of the headphone jack.

I picked up one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002K9IPOC/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

Super impressed. Holds the iPhone firm, has lots of adjustment and its pretty rigid when mounting so would be good for track days and using apps like G-Tac or Henry's Lap Timer for recording your track sessions.

While it states it for 3G, 3Gs, it seems to hold my 1st Gen iPhone really well also...

I tried it in our 911, C5, and and truck.

David
