Assume Her Lease??
is this woman clueless or am I missing something?
2005 HONDA S2000 CONVERTIBLE Assume my lease Sure, I'd like to pick up an S-2000, but why would I - or anyone - assume her lease on a 2005?? Anyone could buy one and resell for less - or do I miss something? |

I suppose the terms of the lease would factor into determining that, but I would bet you are correct...

First off, if that's an AHFC (American Honda Finance) lease, it's not assumable without the new lessee going through their credit qualification. And I seriously doubt it's a good deal since you'd be paying over $12K in payments and still have a residual at the end of the term. Plus there's no mention of how many miles are on the car either. If they originated the lease based on 10K miles per year, and are already close to over the mileage there'e a penalty of between $.15 and .25 per mile over the limit.
The only reason to do it is to get into a fun car with no money down, no sales tax (depending on state) and be able to walk away at the end.
