sunroof sticking
my carrera 89 has a sunroof that is sticking half way. i have to help it along like an old lady!
the vinal has also sagged completely. has anybody had this problem an repaired it succesfully at home. the drivers door is also stopping a 1/3 of the way down! dam! any help would be good cheers jason |

Possibly the sunroof headliner panel, which I interpret from your post has sagging vinyl, may be jamming in the side rails. Try unfastening the sunroof headliner panel, slide it back into the roof area and see if the sunroof now closes without jamming. If you suspect the headliner panel is the problem, you will have to remove the roof panel itself and disassemble a small portion of the rails to remove the liner (not very difficult--there is a tech thread on this site on how to do it. Look under "Replacing sunroof cables.") tighten up the vinyl, and reinstall.
