What else do I need to put in new struts/shocks
 

What other parts do I need to put in new struts/shocks in my 1982 911sc outside of the inserts and shocks themselves?

For the rear shocks, nothing else. For the front struts, if the ball joints are original, I would do those at the same time.

I not sure about 82's, do they use wedge pins?

an air impact gun helps a lot. A pipe wrench is also handy some times.

What brand? If they're Bilsteins, you might want to consider replacing the strut bushings. It's a gigantic can of worms, but they do wear out.
If they are not Bilsteins, you're a lucky one!

They are Bode Struts that I will be putting Bilsteins into.

I am not sure what a wedge pin is but I will find that out.

I did hear that Ball Joints should also be considered so I will do that as well,

I'd just check the ball joints - they will last a very long time.

put new rubber or the poly-bronze everywhere

check all over carefully for rust - scrub a stiff nylon brush over the undercoating to make sure is not coming loose & touch that up

do the pedal cluster repair/refurb. - at min. pull it out and look under it - rust is often concealed

hose all the nuts/bolts down right now with Kroil or pb Blaster - then tap them a dozen times

repeat that ever 12 hrs for a week and you will likely be a LOT happer when you try to pull the assemblies off

read up on what others did from your searches & Wayne's book/Bentley

an air ratchet or elec. ratchet (or drill w/ 90o adapter) will be a happiness for the R shock tower area - or just be very patient

You have to remove the outer tie rod ends from the strut assembly,unless you have the proper clamp type puller you will end up destroying the rubber boot and possibly damaging
the knuckle part of the tie rod...
You could try the "two hammer" striking method but it's much safer with the proper puller !
It would be a good idea to replace both while you're there !
