a foot of water!!

So here in Texas we have been blessed with some rain ( after an amazing summer ).....so it poured most of the morning and when it calmed down I jumped in and went off to do an oil change( I run to a local oil change place and use the "pit")
So after dodging some of the big puddles I find my self stuck behind an old lady doubting herself and slowing down RIGHT in the middle of a giant one!! This thing was prob 30-40ft long and as deep as the curb, and flowing over ...at first I didn't realize how long and deep it was.......so I start honking, but they are drowned out with water....then water starts pouring in the floor boards ( I have the carpet out for some reason).....finally I pull out of the puddle and keep going!!!.....water sloshing around inside, I must have had 2 inches in there...

Well my question is.....how do you guys keep your ecm/computer/relays under the pass seat dry??...mine must have got wet.....

the car is an 82 SC

(I now have a humming/buzzing noise in the Eng bay, see other post)

Is this "pit" a place for DIY'ers to change their own oil?
