Can you name that front coil over suspension??
Hi,
I just started taking my 87 911 apart and found this suspension system. I knew the car had a coil over suspension when I bought it but didn't know anything else about it. I'm taking everything apart just to freshen it all up. I never worked on 911 coil over systems but have redone standard torsion bar setups before. I'm looking at this strut insert and am wondering how to take it apart. Normally I take the top cap off to expose the strut insert. This one looks to have a top cap but it doesn't look to be removable. I do however see a pin at the bottom of the strut hsg. Does this pin hold it in place? Also I don't remember seeing the strut housings reinforced with gussets like this one. maybe I have something better? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The pin releases the strut, those are stock bilsteins with added coil over kits. still have torsions in the car?
