Shelter Logic MOLD?

Had my brothers 911 stored for two months in my new shelter logic portable garage on a black top driveway, when we pulled it out the interior had mold in it. I had read this could happen but dang in two months time and the thing seemed to have air circulating. Question is has anyone else experienced this and found a solution for dealing with it? I bought this to have extra space to restore a Karman Ghia but now questioning what I can keep in there. I am thinking about adding some vents in the peaks at either end??

how big is your brother and have you told him yet are my first two questions ,

if the air is circulating , the structure should not be air tight or your asking for trouble, any moisture IE warm motor when parked and sealed in to cool could cause problems.

but if its "breathing" i would check his car , take a look for a spilt cola or drink inside , or maybe something causing moisture ? swim suits left under the boot ? baby diaper in the rear seat ?(could cause more than mold )

if you can post a pic to give a better idea ?

best of luck telling your bro , later . steve

I used to deal with mold as a profession. Mold needs three things to survive; food, oxygen and water; just like any other living entity. Deny it any one of the three, and it can't survive. Clean the interior with something like Lysol, keep humidity low. Even if air is circulating, it may be moist air, get a dehumidifier. A 10% bleach solution will kill all mold, but it may negatively affect your substrate.

Several years ago when I had my '85 944 I had a mold problem. The car was parked on a covered carport under a cover. I always let it cool down before covering, but it still found a way to grow a "stand" of hairy mold on the passenger side carpet plus light spots in other places.
That and a pending divorce are two of the main reasons I sold the car... I figured if I didn't drive it enough to keep mold from growing I didn't deserve such a fine car. I plan on not letting this happen with the 911!
