Bodywork Question

Hi Everybody,

My 1983 911 SC got slightly damaged whilst parked this week. As the paintwork is still factory original, I would rather try to get the lid straightened & not repainted.

Is that realistic?
What should I do where the paint has come off? It's hidden from sight.

The bonnet has a few stone chips & there are a few small marks here & there so eventually I will get a bare metal respray, however I am not in a hurry. From experience new paint is rarely as good as the original.

Thanks in advance,

Stephen[img]

if it were my car...i would buy a used lid and have it paint matched. is your car black? if so, should be easy to match. plus, I dont know if you can straighten that out. who knows, you might be able to find a factory black lid for sale...

good luck

Who's footing the bill for this?

I have to pay, no damage insurance.
Finding a black lid would be very good news!

No way to fix that without doing paint work. Even the part that is hidden will have to at least be pulled out and would require paint.
