Are my shocks and struts gone???
OK, here's the story.....77, 911S, 243,000 miles
Every time I hit a small bump, uneven place in the road, just about anything that's not perfect...my CD player skips and I think I need one of my crowns replaced. I know these cars are supposed to be "stiff" and not like a Lincoln...I got no problem with that, I just think somethings not right. I don't know if the shocks and struts have ever been replaced. They are green which I assume means they are Bilsteins. Anyway, just wanted to get the boards thoughts. Thanks in advance.

That sounds like stiff torsion bars and/or sway bars.
Worn out struts/shocks feel floaty at higher speeds and rebound too fast and oscillate too much after slow bumps. I guess if they're really worn out, you could be feeling the bump stops, but your torsion bars should prevent that over most bumps.

I could be wrong, but if the t-bar bushings are shot, your t-bars could be resting on metal.
Do you know if they (bushings) were replaced? How many of the 243K miles are yours? If it's around 60K or more, or it's been more than a few years, I'd say check the bushings and/or replace the rear shocks (easiest and cheapest fix), and see if that improves things. (green means bilstein to me too)

Hey Dan.....I've had the car about 5 years. I'll replace the bushings and see if it feels better.
Thanks
