SC Heat Exchangers
Just wondering if my Heat Exchangers are shot. Not much heat makes it to the passenger compartment, but there is a lot of air coming out of the three access holes in the heat exchangers. If they are shot SSI's the best option for replacements?

I assume by "access holes" you mean the through-holes that allow you to reach the mounting bolts. If so, it sure sounds like the guts of the heat exchangers are leaking somewhere. Might you also be getting CO in the cabin? An inexpensive CO detector, available at any light-aircraft FBO at a nearby airfield, would quickly tell you.
Don't know what model 911 you're referring to--a 3.0 914 conversion, from your signature?--but yes, SSIs are excellent. There are some issues about SSI-flange-to-exhaust-port sizing, but it's not so much a problem as it is a compromise you have to accept. (I have SSIs on a 3.35 mod engine.)
