Removing A/C

I had a local shop evacuate my a/c juice this week because I want to pull the entire system out of the car.

Is it now safe to remove the hoses? Should I expect more anything further to come out of the hoses? Is there any residual pressure in the lines?

Forgive my ignorance. I know nothing about a/c systems.

Also, I will likely leave the hoses in place (for now). Should I cap the ends with something? If so, what?

Many thanks,
Craig

Yes, it's safe to remove the hoses. If you're not sure just depress the shrader valve on the compressor (looks like a bicycle tire tube valve) and see if anything comes out. When you remove the lines some residual oil will leak/drip out but not enough quantity to need anything to catch it with other than have a rag handy. Cap the lines to keep dirt out if you plan on using the system again later.
