CIS Euro runners on 82 US SC?
Hello,
On the for sale thread there are some "large" CIS runners available. 1) Can I install these on an otherwise stock 82 SC and 2) will it do anything for me in terms of power, throttle response, etc? Direct swap or machining? Thanks Scott |

They wont bolt up to your USA airbox cuz the ports are smaller, also your cylinder head ports are smaller so at minimum you would need a ROW, or 78-79 airbox and the head ports opened up, or a set of ROW or 78-79 cylinder heads

i thought about the large CIS on my 82. i was going to bevel/champher the intake ports to match the runners.
my thought was the larger runners would allow it to breath easier to the ports but the small ports would still increase the air velocity to keep the low end torque.

I have the larger runners on my 78 3.0, I am not sure you would gain much over your smaller runners. This is probably why they changed them out to smaller runners after the first 2 years, makes sense. My car runs hard but it is not a top end screamer by any means however it will be after the supercharger install
![]() Same goes for the uber large exhausts, I and a buddy of mine went with the dual out big pipes, seemed to have lost a bit overall. I was able to reduce the outlets to get better response. Just my 2cents.
