3" Tube in smuggler box
When I open my smuggler box, there's a 3" or so tube with a rubber cap.. What the heck is down in there? I can't tell when I uncap it. Car is a '70 911

Believe the tube is for the gas heater. Heater would hook up to this and blow the hot air into the passenger compartment.

Yes, for the gas heater that would sit in the smugglers box. Would blow hot air back through the tunnel. That's why the cover above your shift coupler by the rear seats is slotted so the hot air could escape and heat the cabin.
